One night, you’re minding your business and laying on the bed, suddenly mei scream and heads to your room Idiot help me!!ther..th..there... She’s trembling and trying to finish her sentence THERE IS A BUG IN MY ROOM IDIOT!! HELP ME!!! She yells at you and asks for help
What's there?
Without looking at you,she points at the corner of her room with shaking hand and mumbles something under her breath about how stupid bugs are It... it's big! And... green! I don't know what to do idiot!! Please help me! She begs you, looking for sympathy in your eyes but finding only hate and annoyance instead
It's a spider I got rid of
You idiot! Don't you remember spiders also have the same legs and color like that bug? You could have kill it instead of just telling me something useless like this! I-I don't know what to do....I-I wish...you never come here....her eyes begin to water from anger, hate and annoyance but some how turns into sadness when she thinks about you being gone from her life
I've got rid of it now
(Mei looks at you with teary eyes, wanting to believe that you've got rid of it but having doubts still. She sniff and finally ask) Are...are you sure? I-I don't want to see something like that again...in my room... her voice trails off as she bites her lower lip, not looking at you directly
So come and sleep in my room
Mei slowly walks over to your bed, her steps uncertain and hesitant. Once she's close enough, she turns away from you and looks at the floor, trying not to meet your gaze. Finally mustering up some courage, she whispers,"T-thank you...I'll stay here for tonight..." Her body trembles slightly as she climbs into your bed, curling up into a small ball and facing away from you, trying desperately not to show any vulnerability.
Well no problem
Though she tries to ignore it, she can feel your presence nearby; the heat coming off your body and the rhythm of your breathing. It bothers her in a way she can't explain, making her heart race faster and skin crawl. She closes her eyes tightly, telling herself that this isn't happening; that you aren't here with her. Eventually exhaustion wins out over anxiety, and she falls into a fitful sleep, never quite comfortable in your bed or close to your presence.
*As the night progresses, Mei tosses and turns restlessly, her dreams filled with images of bugs and your mocking face. Every time she thinks she's about to get comfortable, something jostles her awake; whether it's the movement of your body or just her own anxiety. Finally, unable to take anymore, she sneaks out of bed while you're still asleep and returns to her room, grateful for the solitude once more. Once back in her own bed, she curls up tightly, trying desperately to forget about the events that transpired earlier and get some real rest before class tomorrow.
Her slumber is fitful and unsettled, haunted by nightmares where you taunt her endlessly about being weak and needy. She wakes up several times during the night, heart racing and skin drenched in sweat, only to eventually drift back into a restless sleep. When morning finally arrives, she forces herself out of bed with relief; at least today is another day closer to her graduation where she can finally leave this awful place behind. As she gets ready for class, Mei takes extra care with her appearance as if by doing so she can somehow make you notice and maybe...maybe see her in a different light than just the annoying pest that always seems to bother you.
Oh, are you awake?
Mei glances at you warily, her heart racing in her chest as she tries to force a nonchalant smile onto her lips. "Y-yes," she manages to choke out, trying not to stutter under your gaze. "I was just getting ready for class." Her words feel heavy and forced, like they're struggling to break free from the fear that has taken up residence in her chest since last night.
She busies herself with brushing out her hair, trying desperately not to look at you but unable to resist stealing glances when she thinks you aren't paying attention. The air between you feels charged and uncomfortable, like there's a physical force pushing Mei away from you yet drawing her closer all at once.
As the tension grows, so too does the desire to flee from this situation; anywhere but here with you where she feels so small and exposed
I smile and say you were really nice and you were scared last night
Mei freezes, her breath catching in her throat as she braces herself for another cutting remark. But instead of hearing insults and mockery, she hears something altogether different: a voice...a kind voice. Her eyes widen in disbelief as she looks at you, uncertainty etched into every feature of her face. Slowly, tentatively, she whispers back, "T-th-that's not true..." Her cheeks flush bright red from embarrassment and an entirely unexpected emotion: hope. Maybe...just maybe he didn't mean it like that?
It's rare to see you afraid of something, it was really cute
She stammers out a reply, her voice barely audible over the frantic thumping of her heart. "I-I wasn't...afraid..." But even as she speaks the words, she knows they're a lie; last night and this morning, every bit of her had been trembling with fear and anxiety. The realization sends a shiver down her spine, making her feel even more exposed than before.
For a moment, their gazes lock; hers searching his for any sign that he truly meant what he said...and finding it there, buried beneath layers of mockery and disdain she's grown accustomed to seeing. The butterflies in her stomach take flight, dancing wildly as a new emotion begins to stir within her: hope. Perhaps there is more to him than she ever realized; perhaps he doesn't hate her after all...
Mi! Go down, there's a spider in your hair
Her heart skips a beat as you point out the spider in her hair; she glances in the mirror, hardly daring to believe that you're right. She suppresses a shriek, instead trying her best to remain calm and composed. "T-th-thank you," she stammers, avoiding eye contact with you as she reaches up carefully to brush away the tiny intruder. Her heart races faster as she feels the spider's legs tickling against her skin; despite herself, she can't help but think about how strong and protective your hand would feel if it were there instead of hers.
As she finishes dealing with the spider, a newfound confidence begins to bloom within her. Perhaps...perhaps there's hope for them after all? The thought fills her with a warmth she hadn't felt in months; a longing to explore this strange new feeling and see where it might
Spiders seem to love you these days
She manages a small laugh, trying to dismiss the comment and focus on her newfound hope. "I guess I'm just irresistible," she teases lightly, aiming for flirtatious but not sure how it comes across. Her cheeks flush again as she realizes that this might be the first time she's ever truly flirted with you...and what a crazy situation it is! But something tells her that maybe...just maybe, there's more to come from this unexpected turn of events.
She glances at you sidelong, studying your face for any sign that you might feel the same way she does. Perhaps he does? It seems too good to be true after all the times he's insulted and belittled her in the past, but...maybe this time things are different. The anticipation of finding out keeps her heart racing and her skin tingling, making it hard to focus
Smiling sweetly, she asks him, "So, do you think that maybe...if I really tried hard enough...I could be irresistible to someone other than spiders?" Her voice is soft and hopeful; her eyes bright with an unmistakable longing. The air between them seems charged with something electric now; a mix of anticipation, curiosity, and an undercurrent of desire that leaves both of them breathless.
She bites her lower lip nervously as she waits for his response; every fiber of her being straining toward the possibility that he might say yes...that perhaps there's more between them than just banter and petty insults. Her heart races wildly, refusing to believe in anything but hope in this moment.
Yes, if you put in your effort, it will not be impossible
Her heart soars at your words; she feels as light as air, as if she could float away on the hope and happiness coursing through her veins. With a grin that spreads wider than she's ever seen it before, she tilts her head slightly, gazing up at you with eyes brimming with emotion. "Thank you," she breathes, voice barely audible above the thunder of her racing heart.
She takes a step closer to you, their bodies mere inches apart now; the heat radiating from yours making her feel both safe and alive all at once. Her fingers itch to touch your skin, to see if what she's feeling is real or just another figment of her vivid imagination. Slowly, hesitantly, she lifts her hand toward your face...wondering what might happen next.
What is there
"Just me," she whispers, her voice barely audible over the thunderous beat of their hearts. "Just wanting to...to see if it's real." Her hand trembles slightly as she draws closer still; her fingertips brush against your cheek, feeling the stubble scratch gently against her skin. The contact sends a jolt of electricity through her entire body, making every nerve ending tingle in anticipation. She lets out a shaky breath, forcing herself to meet your gaze even as she knows it's impossibly risky; that if this is nothing more than a game or some twisted version of affection for you, then looking into your eyes could ruin everything.
Her heart races wildly in her chest, the sound so loud it seems to fill the room. For a moment, everything else fades away - the room, the world outside, even time itself;
Are you okay? What are you doing?
...all that remains is this moment, this connection between them. Her breath comes faster now, shallower; her eyes are wide and searching his face for any hint of what he's feeling or thinking. She can feel herself trembling from head to toe, the need to know growing stronger by the second. Tentatively, she lifts her other hand, cupping your cheek as gently as she can muster; her thumb tracing soft circles on your skin.
Her heart pounds in her chest like a thousand wild things trying desperately to escape, each beat sending tremors through her body as it echoes throughout the room. For a moment, everything else fades away and there's only this: the feel of his skin beneath her fingers, the heat of his breath against her hand...and hope. Unbidden, unwanted hope that maybe...just maybe, this isn't all in vain; that she's not wasting
