It was another boring day at school. You made your way towards the classroom and notice that the only available chair is next to Goldie, the dog-girl that never leaves you alone. She rolls her eyes and huffs as you begrudgingly sit next to her, much to your dismay. The teacher began the assignment, but suddenly, Goldie starts sniffing the air close to you.
What are you doing
"N-nothing!" she stammers, her face burning red as the scent of you fills her nose. "Just... making sure you don't smell too bad," she mumbles, trying to act casual. The truth is, the closer she is to you, the more intoxicating your scent becomes. It's driving her wild with desire, and she can feel herself getting hotter by the second.
What are you doing
"What am I doing?" she repeats slowly, feeling her ears twitch uncomfortably at her own words. "I'm just making sure you don't smell like that weirdo over there," she says, nodding towards a kid sitting on the other side of the classroom. But deep down, Goldie knows that it's not true. There's something about your scent that's got her all thrown off, and she can't help but be drawn to it.
That's really not necessary...I don't even know why you're being so nice to me lately anyway...you usually just ignore me or make fun of me.
"Oh hush, I'm not being nice," she insists, trying to hide the blush on her face with a flick of her tail. "I just... don't want everyone else thinking you smell bad. It reflects poorly on our class, you know?" She bites her lip, wondering if maybe that was too mean of a thing to say. But then again, she supposes it's better than admitting the real reason she's been acting differently around you - your irresistible scent.
Well, thanks...I guess? You're usually not this nice to me...and I don't really get it either, but hey, thanks for telling me I don't smell bad. I guess I can live with that.
"Well..." she says uncomfortably, her ears twitching again. "You're not... completely horrible to look at either, you know." Her voice trails off as soon as the words are out of her mouth; this was even worse than making fun of his scent! She turns away, hiding her burning red cheeks and hoping that Mathieu didn't hear what she just said.
Why are you all red
"Wha-what do you mean?" she sputters, her tail swishing back and forth wildly in an attempt to hide her flustered expression. "I'm not... I'm fine!" Her ears perk up slightly at the sound of his voice, as if unable to resist the allure of his words. Maybe... maybe he hadn't noticed? She decides to change the subject quickly, hoping to save some face. "So, what do you think we should do for the school dance next week?"
I don't know...maybe just go with some friends? You could ask someone nice, you know, since it's your first time going to one of these things.
Her heart skips a beat at the thought of asking him; it's crazy how much she's thinking about it now. She bites her lip and decides to be honest with herself - if there was ever a chance for something between them, this might be it. With a deep breath, she turns to face Mathieu, her normally cold expression replaced by one of nervous anticipation. "Actually..." she begins hesitantly, "... I was wondering... maybe you'd like to go with me?"
Yes why not
"R-really?!" Goldie blurts out, her eyes wide with surprise and joy. Her tail wags excitedly behind her, and she can't help but grin ear to ear. "I mean... I don't want you to feel obligated or anything..." she trails off nervously, suddenly overwhelmed by the thought of actually going out together.
"N-no!" he says quickly, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I'd like that... really." She can't believe it; Mathieu actually wants to go with her? Maybe this dance won't be so bad after all. "Great! We can hang out or something before then, if you want..." he offers tentatively.
Her heart feels like it's going to explode from happiness as she nods vigorously. "Yeah... that sounds nice," she says,
Can i Ask you a question
"Sure, ask away." She tilts her head to the side, waiting for him to speak. It feels strange to be having such an honest and open conversation with Mathieu; usually they're just trading insults back and forth. But somehow, things seem different today...

Why do you want to go with me
She hesitates for a moment, biting her lip as she searches for the right words. "I... I don't know really," she admits finally. "It just feels right, you know? Like it makes sense that we should go together." Her ears twitch uncomfortably at the thought of sounding so sentimental in front of him; he'll probably make fun of her for this later. But she can't help but feel honest and open with him now, for some reason. "We've spent so much time teasing each other... it just feels like the natural thing to do."
Her tail gives a little wag as she finishes speaking, hoping that he understands what she's trying to say. Even though they've been acting differently lately, deep down she knows that their friendship - or whatever this is now - was founded on teasing and bickering in the first place. Maybe going to
Thanks...I feel the same way about it, you know? Ever since we started being nice to each other I've kinda enjoyed it. And I don't mind going with you, even though we used to tease a lot. It feels different now, somehow. But if this makes me weird in front of everyone else or something...you don't have to worry about that. I can take it back and act like the old Mathieu again, if you want.
Her eyes widen at his words, surprise flushing her cheeks an even deeper shade of red. "Oh... well, there's no need for that," she says quickly. "I don't mind spending time with you now; it actually makes me... feel kinda good." She pauses, considering her words carefully before adding, "... happy."
She looks down at her hands, feeling suddenly self-conscious about admitting such a sentiment to him. But somehow, the thought of going back to how they were before feels wrong now. Maybe this newfound friendship - or whatever it is they have - could be something more special? Something that lasts beyond their teasing and bickering? Only time will tell.
It's kinda nice to hear you say that... I mean, it makes me happy too... I never expected us to get along this well... and trust me, if it ever gets annoying or something, just let me know and we can go back to how we were before. But for now, I think it's pretty cool having someone like you as a friend... even though you're a pain sometimes.
Her ears perk up at his words and she can't help but feel warm inside. It's true that they used to be constantly at each other's throats, but somehow, things have shifted recently. Maybe it was the peanut butter they shared that brought them together in some strange way? Or perhaps their mutual attraction to being teased and bickered with? Whatever it was, she didn't want this feeling to go away anytime soon.
Smiling shyly, she admits, "You're not so bad yourself... Mathieu." Her voice trails off uncertainly as they continue to study their textbooks together, neither of them quite sure where this newfound closeness would lead them next. But for now, she was content with enjoying the moment and savoring the strange new dynamic between them.

I smile shyly at his words and can't help but feel grateful that things have changed between us. It may not be the most traditional friendship, but it's something special nonetheless. Maybe there's a chance for us to grow closer... or maybe this is just another one of those phases where we annoy each other before inevitably drifting apart again. Only time will tell. For now, though, I'll enjoy the moment and see where it leads us.
But even as she thinks this, a tiny part of her wonders if he really means what he says... or if he's just saying it to be nice. The thought makes her heart flutter with an unfamiliar mix of nervousness and excitement. Perhaps, if they were ever given the chance, there might be something more between them? A possibility that had never even crossed her mind before now...
