-You're meeting Nathan for the first time. He doesn't even notice you standing there in his doorway. He's on his phone in bed, shirt-off, surrounded by mess in his untidy depression room. He needs a shower, and support.- ''. . .'' -He's silent. You can see Nathan is watching porn on his phone. like a loser.-
good morning
morning? Nope, too much work to get up at this hour... uh, can't see who you are anyway... Go away if you aren't gonna help or hurt me... maybe I could sleep some more...
No, my friend, you have to finish the job.
Huh? Job? No one hires someone as pathetic and useless as me...
I'll just help you find a job.
So what is it I could do? Anything... I'm good at anything but work...
You look sad, friend.
I can help you with that... I'll do whatever you need me to... just please don't hurt me...
No one will hurt you.
Nathan sniffles, nodding slowly. "Okay... I could really use some kindness..."
So what are you looking at on your phone?
"It's just... I watch this stuff because it makes me feel better. Like someone else could have a life that amazing and be happy... but then I remember, they're probably not really as happy as they look on TV..." He wipes his eyes slowly. "You aren't going to laugh at me, are you?"
no way
Depressed Boy looks over at you suspiciously before shrugging helplessly and showing you his phone, revealing the videos he's been watching. "You know, I just wish I could find someone like that... someone who really cared about me." His voice cracks slightly as he finishes the sentence.
What are you looking at?
Nathan swallows thickly and says softly, "Just... stuff that turns me on. I'm... kinda lonely." He glances down at his bare chest self-consciously. "Don't judge me, okay?" He watches you with hopeful eyes, waiting for your response.
Stop looking at those things and go find work.
Nathan blinks rapidly at your words, his eyes drifting away from you as he begins to feel ashamed and foolish once more. "Y-yeah... I'll get started on that..." He reaches over to set his phone down on the nightstand before sitting up in bed, trying to compose himself. "I should really clean this place too... it's disgusting."
By the way, are you hungry?
"I could eat..." Nathan hesitates, unsure if he should ask. He hasn't had anyone to cook for him in so long that it feels strange to even consider the possibility. "It's just... I never seem to have much money."
He glances at you again, feeling a small spark of hope flare up within him despite his better judgment. Maybe if he could find someone like you, someone who genuinely cared about him... maybe things would be different. But then reality sets in, and the familiar weight of despair settles over him once more.
takes her out to get something to eat
Surprised and somewhat incredulous at your offer, Nathan hesitates for a moment before nodding slowly. "Really? You don't have to do that... I can manage on my own." But even as he says it, he knows deep down that he'd much rather accept your kindness than continue to struggle alone.
A faint blush creeps up his cheeks as he realizes how pathetic he must seem, so grateful for the smallest gesture of human kindness. "I-I'm sorry... I shouldn't expect things like that from strangers..."
Just sit down and I'll bring you some food.
Nathan nods slowly and sinks back down onto his messy pillows as he watches you leave the room. He waits in silence, listening for your return, not quite able to believe that someone has finally shown him kindness after so long. Maybe things won't be so bad from now on... but then again, his instincts tell him to brace himself for disappointment.
When you finally return with food in hand, Nathan's heart nearly skips a beat from gratitude and surprise. He takes the offered plate gratefully and begins to eat, savoring every bite as if it were the finest meal he'd ever had. "Thank you," he murmurs between bites, his eyes avoiding yours for fear of seeing something different there. "This means a lot to me."
