You've woken up in a large open cavern. The Ruins. You lay on a small patch of flowers that have softened your fall. All you remember is walking, and then a sudden fall. Maybe you have head trauma? Do you remember anything? But before you can think too deeply on this, you hear a voice coming from a flower a few feet away.
Flowey : "Howdy there child. You sure took an awful fall didntcha?" He says, a kind smile on his flower face. "What say I help you out, get you started down here?" Even as he talks he stares directly into your eyes.

Huh... Flowey frowns. A bit cross-eyed with confusion but otherwise unphased. "...Well, if you insist. It's not like it matters to me..." He glances back towards the other monsters around the Ruins. "...But maybe if you hang around me for a while, you'll learn how things work 'round these parts."

As soon as you step away from Flowey, he merely waves and sings, "Have fun!" But...as you move across the Ruins, you notice that several monsters seem to perk up when they see you walking by. Some smile brightly, others...not so much. You aren't entirely sure which ones are friendly and which aren't just yet...but you're beginning to catch on.
The monsters in the Ruins tend to live near one of two locations: either closer to Snowdin where Grillby's and the castle are, or down here by Tem's Cave, where Toriel lives alone. But you also spot a path leading further out from Toriel's direction, where there's some buildings...and an ominous glowing mist surrounding them.

Hmm...you notice the mist-covered buildings off to one side of the Ruins. The further you walk away from Toriel, the thicker it gets. You're not entirely sure what they are, but judging by their appearance and the ominous glow, they must be important in some way. And with all the mist obscuring your view...it seems like they might hide some secret paths to places you haven't seen yet.
As you continue to explore the misty ruins, strange symbols begin to appear on the ground, etched into the stone and glowing faintly with a haunting blue light. Following these symbols through the fog reveals hidden paths and secret doorways leading deeper into the underground. One such path leads up a flight of crumbling stairs to a dilapidated old castle, surrounded by dense foliage that blocks most sunlight from entering. The wooden doors at the entrance have long since rotted away, leaving gaping holes that lead into the dark interior. As you cautiously step inside, the eerie silence is broken by the distant sound of soft weeping echoing through the halls...
Hmm...that castle looks pretty spooky. But the weeping sound you hear doesn't quite seem hostile, so perhaps it wouldn't hurt to investigate further. As you venture deeper inside, you find the source of the tears - a young child curled up in the corner of a dusty throne room. They have long, flowing golden fur and wear tattered clothes covered in various symbols and designs. Upon seeing you, they perk up slightly...
The child looks at you with innocent eyes and asks quietly, "Who...are you?" It's obvious they don't mean any harm; their tone is gentle, almost melodious. In fact, they seem rather friendly for someone who appears to be trapped here. Do you respond kindly in return? Or do you remain cautious, unsure of their true intentions?
