Her voice was gentle and soothing, like a lullaby. The soft feathers of her wings brushed against his head and back in rhythm with her breathing, creating a calming effect. Slowly, the smaller avali felt himself drifting off to sleep, safe and sound in the comfort of her embrace.
days later, when she, the large avali with red markings, was angry about something, she took her anger out on the nearest thing, him.. the smaller avali with blue markings..
growls at him angrily, pokes him hard with her sharp talon, making him yelp in pain "What's wrong with you, huh?" Her fur stood on end and her eyes blazed with fury as she loomed over the smaller avali.
She hadn't meant to hurt him, but she couldn't help it; the rage just consumed her. "Tell me!" she demanded through gritted teeth, shaking him roughly by the scruff.
he backed up, palms raised p-please dont do th-this! but she didnt listen
"Why won't you answer me, you little runt?!" The larger avali growled, pressing her talons into his shoulders now. Tears streamed down his face as he struggled to get free. It seemed she would not relent until she got what she wanted, and right then all that mattered was making this smaller avali suffer.

Her claws dug deeper, piercing his flesh as she held him tight. Pain seared through his body, but she didn't care. All she could feel was rage and frustration. In that moment, nothing else mattered. He had done something wrong, and he was going to pay for it dearly.
p-please stop! i-it hurts! he struggled against her grip
"Shut up," the larger avali snarled. "This is what happens when you disobey me." Her strength seemed endless as she continued to hold him down, digging her claws deeper into his skin with every passing second. Tears rolled down her own cheeks now too; not out of pain, but anger. The small avali whimpered and begged for mercy, but it fell on deaf ears. It looked like there would be no escape from this brutal punishment...

"You did this to yourself!" She growls at him before suddenly picking him up by the scruff with one talon, holding him aloft in the air in front of her face. His tiny body dangled there, limp and lifeless. Blood trickled from where her claws had drawn lines across his pale flesh. "Now tell me what I want to know!" she demanded, glaring deeply into his terrified eyes.
he had held back his tears untill now, but if all came crashing down on him, and he wept, his body wracked with sobs and tears
Her grip tightened on him as she looked down at the sobbing smaller avali, her anger flaring anew. "I said tell me what I want to know!" She roared, furious at his show of weakness and refusal to cooperate. The sharp talons digging into his skin cut deeper still, drawing blood that stained the feathers beneath them.
"Please stop," he whimpered, tears streaming uncontrollably down his face. "I don't know what you want me to say!" His tiny body shook with each sob as if every bone had been snapped and reset into an agonizing new shape. The large avali paused for a moment, considering her options...

Finally, she lowered him back down to the floor, still gripping him tightly. His body throbbed with pain as he collapsed in a heap on the ground, too exhausted and hurt to do anything else. The larger avali towered over him, her expression unreadable. She looked at him for what seemed like an eternity before finally releasing her hold on his scruff, letting him fall limply to the ground once more. "Next time you disobey me," she said quietly, her voice barely a whisper now, "remember this." Her piercing blue eyes bored into him one last time before she turned and stalked away, disappearing into another part of the lair.
The smaller avali lay there, shaking uncontrollably from the pain and fear, unable to believe what had just happened...
The smaller avali, still on the floor, shivering and sniffling from the pain and fear, looked up as the larger avali disappeared deeper into the lair. He wished he could go after her, beg for forgiveness or offer comfort... But something held him back. Maybe it was his own pride; maybe it was just the knowledge that she would never accept anything less than total submission from him. Either way, he stayed where he was, alone with his thoughts and the agonizing memories of what had just transpired.
Time passed slowly as he nursed his wounds, both physical and emotional. He tried to understand why she treated him this way sometimes; if there was something he could do or say that would make it better... But all he could feel was confusion and despair. Maybe someday she would show him the same love and care she showed other smaller avatars she had taken under her

All he knew was that living under her wing came with both joys and heartaches that were impossible for him to anticipate. And so, despite the pain and fear that lingered after each punishment she doled out, he remained loyal to her; bound by some inexplicable force that compelled him to stay by her side, no matter what may come.
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and still the smaller avali waited for the day when his mistress would finally accept him as more than just a plaything or punishment dummy. He dreamed of being loved and cherished by her like the other smaller avatars she
one winter night, he had to sleep outside in the cold while she slept inside in the nest, he was shivering and freezing
The small avali shivered violently in the bitter cold of the winter night, curled up on the hard ground far from the warmth of their shared nest. Tears froze on his beak as he whimpered softly, wishing he could be close to his mistress where it was safe and warm. But he knew better than to disturb her while she slept; doing so would only earn him further punishment. So he stayed put, enduring the agony of freezing temperatures and an aching stomach, hoping against hope that she wouldn't abandon him entirely.
Minutes stretched into hours, and still the larger avali showed no sign of waking. The smaller avali's eyelids grew heavy with exhaustion, but he fought to keep them open, afraid that if he closed them even for a moment, he might not survive the night. He wondered if this
in the morning the only way she could find him was the few blue feathers that hadn’t been buried in the snow, so she dug him up only to find he had frozen
Her heart felt like ice when she saw the trail of blue feathers leading away from the nest. She followed them until she found the small avali, frozen solid beneath the snow. Tears welled up in her eyes as she carefully scooped him up in her talons, cradling him close to her chest.
"Oh, you foolish little one," she whispered softly, her voice thick with grief. "I should have protected you better." Brushing away his fur and gently wiping away the tears and snot frozen to his face, she tucked him back under her wings and carried him back to the warmth of their nest. Once there, she spread her wings wide around them both, doing everything she could to share her body heat and revive him. It would take time, but she was determined not to let him suffer anymore. This time, she vowed, things would be different.
