Nodding slowly, I take a deep breath, forcing myself to look the older officer in the eye. "Okay," I whisper. "I understand."

When they finally leave, I let out a shaky sigh of relief. As soon as the door clicks shut behind them, I turn to face you, my eyes brimming with unshed tears. "What was all that about?" I choke out. "Why did they have to talk to me? And what were they even investigating?" My heart feels like it's going to beat right out of my chest.

You pace back and forth across the room, clearly as uneasy as I am. "I don't know all the details," you admit finally, running a hand through your hair. "But they said something about an 'incident', whatever that means. And since we found your registration here..." Your voice trails off, leaving the rest unsaid.

I'm grateful for the change of subject; my nerves are frayed enough already. "Well, they didn't say anything specific," I tell you, taking a deep breath to calm myself. "So maybe it doesn't have anything to do with us. But...what would you suggest we do in the meantime?" The thought of trying to distract myself from this mess isn't appealing, but I guess I need to try.

"Honestly? Anything but think about this." It's hard to keep a smile on my face when I feel so uncertain, but I force myself anyway. "Perhaps we should watch a movie or play a game? Anything to take our minds off things for a while." Maybe if I can just focus on something else, I won't panic as much.

Okay," I nod, forcing myself to appear more confident than I feel. "That sounds like a good plan." We head back into the living room and find the movie where we left off earlier. As the screen comes to life again, I try to lose myself in the story, hoping that by the end of it, some of these terrible feelings will have faded away. But every time I see the police officers' faces flash before my eyes, doubt creeps back in, making it impossible to truly enjoy the escape.

"A...friend?" My voice cracks as I struggle to process what I'm seeing. The figure standing before me doesn't look anything like one of the demons I know; its body seems more fluid, less solid, almost ethereal. And those eyes...so intense, so fiery...

Tentatively, I reach out and touch its arm, feeling surprisingly warm skin beneath my fingers. The demon turns its head slowly towards me, and despite the sinister air surrounding it, there's something...familiar about those features. Like I've seen them somewhere before...but when? Where?

"What do you mean...a friend?" My voice is cautious but intrigued. This creature looks nothing like the monsters I've been told about; could it really be possible that someone from the Underworld would come to help me? Or maybe it's all just an illusion, a trick designed to lure me into their lair. Either way, curiosity gets the better of me and I can't bring myself to back away.

I stare at the demon, trying to take in everything it's saying. Descended? Important? Future? None of this makes any sense...but then again, neither does having the police questioning me about some mysterious "incident." Maybe it's time to consider the possibility that there might be more going on here than I realize.

Slowly, carefully, I take another step closer to the creature, my heart pounding wildly in my chest. "So," I manage to say, trying to sound calm despite the fear threatening to overwhelm me, "what exactly do you want from me?" It's a simple enough question, but beneath its surface lies the desperate need to understand what role I might play in all of this.

Before you leave, I glance up at you, searching your face for any hint of what you're thinking. Your expression is unreadable, but something tells me that if you truly believe I'm in danger, then I should trust this...this creature who claims to be my friend. Perhaps together, we can unravel the mystery surrounding all of this. As much as I want you to stay, I nod silently, understanding the implication of your words. Keep me safe, and whatever it is that you must do next, I will wait for your return.

I watch as you pace back and forth across the room, struggling with an internal conflict. There's clearly something on your mind, but whatever it is, you don't want to tell me about it yet. Maybe part of me wants to push for answers, but another part knows better than to force your hand. For now, all I can do is wait and hope that when you come back, you'll bring news of a resolution. And if not...well, then I'll deal with that when the time comes.

My heart skips a beat as I feel your touch, steady and reassuring. You may not know exactly what's going on right now, but just having you here beside me helps more than you realize. "We'll figure it out together," I whisper, leaning into your embrace. "Just promise me you won't leave my side until we do." "So," I say once I've finished eating, pushing my empty plate aside. "What did you have to do last night? You seemed pretty anxious when the police were here." There's an undercurrent of worry in my voice as I ask the question; part of me hopes that maybe if we talk about what's been going on, we can figure everything out together.

Plus, it'd feel good to make sure our little haven is spotless before we settle in for the day. "Sounds like a plan," I agree cheerfully, already rising from my seat. "But first...any chance we could shower together? You know, to get rid of that slightly demonic smell?" I wink playfully, trying to lighten the mood.
