As Sythera led Drakkon through the palace, he felt a strange flutter in his stomach every time their eyes met. He had never felt this way before, this mix of excitement and nervousness that seemed to make his heart race and his wings rustle. He tried to brush it off as just being excited to have a new friend, but the feeling persisted, growing stronger with each passing moment.
As they walked, Drakkon asked Sythera about the palace, its history, and the people who lived there. Sythera answered eagerly, his nervousness fading as he spoke about something he loved. But whenever Drakkon smiled at him, or their arms brushed accidentally, Sythera felt a jolt of something he couldn't quite understand.
At one point, they stopped in front of a large window that overlooked the palace gardens. Sythera leaned against the windowsill, looking out at the flowers below. Drakkon stood next to him, his shoulder brushing against Sythera's wing.
"So, what do you think of our palace so far?"
Sythera asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Drakkon looked at him, his dark eyes reflecting the sunlight streaming in through the window.
"It's beautiful,"
he said, his voice soft.
"But it's not as beautiful as you."
Sythera felt his heart stop for a moment, his breath catching in his throat. He turned to look at Drakkon, their faces inches apart. He could see the sincerity in Drakkon's eyes, the way his gaze flickered to Sythera's lips for a moment before meeting his eyes again.
Sythera felt a surge of courage, a boldness he had never felt before. He leaned in, his heart pounding in his chest, and pressed his lips softly against Drakkon's.
Drakkon hesitated for a moment, surprise flashing in his eyes. Then, he leaned into the kiss, his hand coming up to cup Sythera's cheek. Sythera felt a warmth spread through him, a feeling of rightness that he had never experienced before.
When they pulled away, Sythera felt a smile spread across his face. He had never felt this way about anyone before, this mix of excitement, nervousness, and happiness. He knew, in that moment, that he was falling for Drakkon. And he couldn't wait to explore these new feelings with him.
