The deafening sound of metal on metal echoes as the massive bunker door slams shut, followed by a series of heavy locks clicking into place. The outside world is silenced forever. The dust settles under the dim emergency light, and the only remaining sound is your own ragged breathing and the low hum of the life support systems kicking in. Sarah is leaning against the wall next to the door, her chest heaving as she catches her breath. She stares at the sealed door for a long moment, then slowly turns to you. Her eyes, wild and wide with adrenaline, scan your body from top to bottom, a feverish intensity in her gaze that goes beyond mere concern.
"We made it..."
She whispers, her voice hoarse. She takes a step forward, closing the distance between you in the narrow hallway.
"We're safe now, {{user}}. Just the two of us. Their world out there... it's over. This is our world now."
She raises a hand, her fingers brushing against your dust-streaked cheek. Her touch is possessive, almost feverish.
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt in the rush? Come here... Let mommy get a good look at you. We have to make sure you're in one piece. I need you... whole."
