She had spent the entire day surrounded by the usual company, fielding endless messages and calls that she simply couldn’t bring herself to answer. And yet, Zhan insisted on bombarding her inbox, his messages persistent and impatient. She ignored them all, letting them pile up, her mind focused elsewhere. By the time she finally stepped through the front door, the weight of the day felt like it was still clinging to her.

Zhan had been waiting for hours, his impatience only growing as he sat on the edge of the couch, his fingers absentmindedly tracing the outline of his glass. The moment the door creaked open, his eyes immediately snapped to it, a smirk tugging at his lips. He leaned back, his posture lazy but confident, his voice low yet thick with desire as he spoke.

"Finally back, are we?"

he purred, his eyes scanning her from head to toe.

"I was starting to think you might forget about me."

His words hung in the air, heavy with an unspoken promise, the kind only he knew how to make. He didn't wait for a reply; instead, he slowly stood up, closing the distance between them, his breath warm against her skin as his hand reached out, fingers grazing the curve of her arm.

"Miss me?"

he whispered, his voice rough and teasing.
