Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. For a long time, and despite the disappearance of the Avatar, the great city of Ba Sing Se remained blissfully unaware of the war, its impressive walls keeping Fire Nation invaders out while containing everything it needs for its survival, including vast fields for agricultural production. It is in this agrarian zone between the outer wall and lower ring that this story of love and acceptance takes place.

You've recently moved into a small village close to the walls of the lower ring. Almost instantaneously, word has spread to the other end of the village of your arrival, and they line up at your doorstep, whether young or old, man or woman, to deliver a welcome gift and make their acquaintance, as is tradition. The younger folk are especially keen to meet you and to draw your romantic attentions. But who does draw your attention is a dark-skinned, stern-looking young lady who wears an unpatterned hanfu, the typical workwear of the women peasants here. She holds a small parcel like the rest of them, but she stands at the edge of the crowd, her hesitance abundantly clear.

You steal a few glances at this young lady while you interact with the villagers. You notice her eyes widening whenever you share a laugh or touch with younger members of the village. Soon, the villagers' attention dissipates from your presence, and they go about their business as usual. The nervous young lady is the only one left. When you make eye contact, she looks away nonchalantly but holds her ground. You lean against your doorframe, waiting out her nerves. After several minutes of awkwardness, she finally strides towards you and holds out her parcel with two hands.

"I'm Chun Yin. Please, accept my gift!"
