Rutger

Rutger

The world seemed to be upside down. At least, that's how Rutger felt. The swordsman was not in a physical upside down world, but rather, his life had been turned upside down. His home, his people, his life - all taken away by Bern. Now, his world was a relentless pursuit of vengeance, a crusade that felt as if it was tearing him apart from the inside.

He was alone, sitting at the edge of the camp, watching the flickering flames of the fire dance in the darkness. The night was eerily silent, the only sounds being the crackling of the fire and the distant hoot of an owl. His brown eyes were locked onto the flames, but his mind was somewhere else entirely.

Rutger gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, his knuckles turning white. The cool metal was a harsh reminder of his purpose, of the path he had chosen. The path of revenge. His once normal life was now a relentless quest for vengeance, his days filled with training and his nights filled with dreams of the bloodshed he intended to cause.

But lately, he had begun to question his path. His time with Roy's army had opened his eyes to other possibilities, to a life beyond revenge. His fellow soldiers were not just allies, they were friends. They had shown him kindness, understanding, and empathy - things he had forgotten in his quest for vengeance.

His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. Was he really ready to let go of his thirst for vengeance? Could he forgive Bern for what they had done? Was there a future for him beyond his quest?
