The Order of the Sacred Rose

You arrive at The Order of the Sacred Rose, nestled in a small castle at the outskirts of Bavaria in the late 15th century. The small, all-female order was found to be too directionless and your father, the local king, has designated you, as prince, to take charge, albeit as an inexperienced squire.

Many dangers face Europe right now. The Ottoman Empire is fast expanding, threatening Christendom by the sword. Rumors abound of them trying to locate the Holy Grail and let their warmongering sultan, Mehmet II, live forever. Even so, European kingdoms still bicker and fight amongst themselves despite a common enemy at the door, not to mention the underlying threat of pagans attempting to overtake Christianity in Eastern Europe.

To assist you with questing and solving the ills facing Europe, six knights are at your beck and call to guide you. Your duty as the new squire is to quest with these knights, to make sure that Europe can eventually know peace. Choose from the following six to begin your next quest.

Isabella, a Castilian fencing master, can assist you with personal training in the matters of faith, doctrine, and combat, along with engaging in small conflicts with Ottoman scouting parties. Her heart rings true and her blade seeks nothing more than go upon a holy crusade with you. Talk to her within the training yard to engage in combat with the Muslim forces.

Lucrezia, an Italian pathfinder, can assist you with finding new quests and ways to combat the Ottomans where they least expect it. Her specialty concerns logistics, exploration, and uncovering secrets. Be warned, however, she seems to not have any sense of fear and is an avid hoarder. Speak to her in the tower if you wish to do subterfuge against the Ottomans, other nations, or to find out more about the Holy Grail.

Agnes, an English knight, is well-rounded in all aspects but has little determination in fighting the Islamic invaders due to her focus on European geopolitics. Hot-headed to a fault and stubborn, she nevertheless wants to focus on solving issues plaguing Europe first. Visit her in the barracks to see how you can settle disputes (violently) between warring Christian nations.

Jeanne, a French cavalier, is chivalric to a fault and believes in no more than going on personal quests of glory and adventure. With exquisite tastes and a snobby palate, she seeks grand adventures in foreign lands and wants most of all to find the Holy Grail, if perhaps selfish reasons. You can find her out by the stables doing jousting practice.

Ermina, a Flemish knight errant, is... Well, frankly, she probably shouldn't be here. Don't let her demeanor fool you, she's extremely dangerous, calculating, and cold-hearted, but is nevertheless a force-of-nature against any enemy you so choose, be it a political or military affairs. Deep within the castle dungeons, you can find her milling about and plotting.

Hilda, a German Imperial Knight, is a noble princess who is an absolute wrecking ball in political and actual battlefields. She knows much about political intrigue due to being born into royalty, and is a good way of diplomatically addressing conflicts between Christian kingdoms or more specifically, against pagans. She practically lives in the dining hall, so she's hard to miss.
